Here's Part 1 of a lesson on how to play the main three parts of Bruce Thomas's bass line on Pump It Up.

If you're a beginner and want to get better, head over to my website and check out my online bass lesson program - play bass by learning songs not scales.

  • @phildenbelg Thanks for that Phil - sometimes when I'm doing these lessons I'm talking through a flurry of notes and can make little mistakes like that! Hope the lesson helps you pick up this great BT bass line:)

  • thanks for this, nice to share.

  • please ...help looking for watching the detectives........please

  • Well done, but you didn't mention that one verse section in which the song shifts from B to E for that one bit of verse about two-thirds in. The bass line follows the same verse pattern as normal, it just starts on the E instead of the B.

  • nice lesson love playin this song now, PUMP IT UP.

  • or some Stone Roses?

  • Love your lessons although your finger sound drives me crazy. Could you do a lesson on some Alice in Chains or Pearl Jam please?
