I think it depends on the amp. I have a Diezel VH4 that seems to like the JB and '59 the most. I prefer using EMGs or Blackouts with the Diezel Herbert.
Fender amps generally sound best with Fender pickups.

i would rather have some lundgren m8's this sounds like a roland cubed 8 string.
