@caiushawk If you go to bing maps slash explore, you'll be able to use a bunch of what he's showing here. Only the live video isn't available right now.

@hughtub Hi, I know exactly what you mean. There's so much more potential than just using it in Silverlight for Deep Zoom on images.
One thing you need to realize is that Seadragon needs images to be internally structured differently than most images are, so you would need to convert all your images to its format which would mean that most image programs wouldn't understand how to open them properly. It would also mean much more of your hard drive being used for thumbnails, essentially.

He's looking at Seattle!!!

I still can't wait for Seadragon to become available as a file viewer. I really want that, and it's been 3 years since it was TED talked.

This video starts out slow but gets really entertaining about 1/3rd of the way through.

I know. The Notre Dame one he used in the demo is amazing, especially in that it used a photo of a poster of a drawing of Notre Dame in constructing the photosynth. And with this video, he's showing how you can make images of a place that auto-update as you film them. A newscast may update the map! And consider when a building is destroyed - the photos people take will auto-update the map to show that it's no longer there.
Why the low ratings? This video is amazing! Microsoft haters need to grow up.

If ppl get angry over Google street view vans catching them in "unfortunate situations" on STILL PICTURES, how about getting monitored -unknowingly- REAL TIME in this fashion by 'your "neighbour"?
Orwellian!!
