It also sounds more like the horn on an HO-scale model train locomotive with one of those DCC sound chips instead of a real train's horn

0:06: Yes, mix the real horn with the Wayside Horns. That'll make a good concerto in Sydney.

@EJE665 no they're not at least it sounds like a real horn & doesn't make it look like a train that doesn't blow the horn @ a normal crossings
-
Wow. They must be trying to empty the town with those horns.
-
That and since they are a part of the signal and have the same volume, people will start ignoring them just as they do with other quiet zones.

did people think about the railroad crossing before buying a house close to the tracks? if the houses were there before the tracks then i can see why they would complain. if the tracks were there first they should've thought about it before buying the house

they have wayside horns in branson, mo near the landing too. when i first heard them i thought it was a train with a wierd horn. now i know there just speakers

Yeah, they are tied in with the crossing system and keep doing crossing sequences until the train arrived. They are very pointless and stupid.

Yep, plus it doesn't take much to know that isn't the train.

I think the only M-bells in the area are this one, one crossing in Malta, one crossing near Elburn, and one just west of Global Three in Flagg.
