Copenhagen is preparing to host experts and world leaders next month to discuss how to prevent climate change and global warming. But while they'll be looking to put new restrictions on greenhouse emissions, not everyone in the scientific community is in agreement. RT spoke to one Russian scientist who says far from heating up, the earth is actually heading for a new Ice Age.
@dasGagaTier WHOS PAYING YOU TO SAY THIS? GIVE ME ONE AREA IN THIS CLIP THAT IS FACTUALLY WRONG AND USE FACTS I CAN CONFRIM - OR STFU

Every single claim in this clip is demonstrably false. The "new ice age", the claim of temperature decline, and of course, the "climategate" quotation is a misquotation and either ill-informed or deliberately deceitful.

@BrandonSchleifer the question is not global warming, but if it is natural

@nlpjohn Do you even know what you're talking about? Do you honestly think that the existence of glaciers in Antarctica is proof that global warming is false? NO! Glaciers are proof that our baseline temperature - the temperature humans have thrived in - is cold enough for polar glaciers and permafrost. The fact it's melting and thawing respectively is proof of global warming.

@BrandonSchleifer I thought the world is over-heating and yet we have "massive glaciers and permafrost" now? That is not what I hear from alarmist scientists. They can't keep their stories str8.

@nlpjohn Now, we have massive glaciers and permafrost. Glaciers contain large amounts of CO2, and permafrost contains large amounts of methane. When glaciers melt and permafrost thaws, these stored greenhouse gasses are released into the atmosphere. That's the runaway greenhouse gas effect we're looking at. 550mya, there were no glaciers or permafrost, therefore, no runaway greenhouse gas effect.

@BrandonSchleifer So explain how positive feedback works now with CO2 and not 550 mya. Make your case. You are making new claims so prove them...

@nlpjohn 550 million years ago, what were the sources of CO2? There weren't too many volcanoes, and there was no trapped carbon. But there was photosynthetic life (bacteria) that consumed CO2, and released oxygen as waste. The reason the runaway greenhouse effect didn't occur 550mya is because it was a different scenario. You can't assume that what's true then is still true today. And positive feedback loops are common in nature. Example: glaciers increase albedo, making it even colder.
