Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art.
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my souls Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor mans empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heavens joys, O bright Heavens Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

  • IRELAND YEEEEAAAAHHHH!!!!

  • Favourite hymn

  • Great Job ! ! I've been in choir since my middle school days in 1999, and this is one of my favorite songs to sing ! !

  • I love my church so much! We sing this song a lot and I love it more every time we sing it.

  • does anyone know of a version that has all the lyrics? Every one I have found leaves out the buckler and sword verse. Help please (wife of ghost)

  • @sksk1995 well I'm a protestant Christian too and my family all go to church, it' really depends on the person u are

  • @Wrz2e How about coming into the catholic faith ?

  • Come on Ireland!

  • Heard this song at a Church servcice following a Workers Memorial Day event last year. I didn't even realise the event was going to finish in a church. Such a beautiful hymn though. I live in the UK, a fairly secular country but this made me want to go to church. I'm nominally protestant but no one in my family attends church. Definitely need to find a fellowship.
