I believe this aired sometime between 1987 & 1988. These were the wrap-arounds that aired during a mini marathon of "The Patty Duke Show". Please keep watching, there are a lot of funny and odd things here. This the during the early years of Nick at Nite when they were wonderfully creative and a bit off the wall. The sound has faded quite a bit, this was taken from the original. I apologize for the watermark, I'll reupload when I actually purchase the program!

  • @fromthesidelines It would've been nice had they done the research.

  • @vhsstillok I would think so too.

  • The problem was, the "Nick At Nite" staff didn't know WHO Patty's "body double" was at the time- so they decided to have a little fun and created a tongue-in-cheek "mockumentary", in the style of their promos, about her [had they known about Rita McLaughlin, the approach would have been less satirical than seen here].

  • where did you get this "trial version"?

  • Ha...I remember this! I actually saw an interview where Patty Duke talked about this skit. She said that it really was in insult to Rita because she had been hired to play a role and this skit really degraded her. Gotta admit, it would have to be pretty demeaning to play a role in which you had to work to hide your face.

  • The actual double for Patty Duke during the original run on ABC (1963-66), was Rita McLaughlin Walter. She is best remembered for her long-running role as Carol Demming Hughes Stallings Andropolous on AS THE WORLD TURNS.

  • Franny Glass- a funny (and now timely) J.D. Salinger reference.

  • I remember this! Thanks for posting it.

  • it was 1988, Patty Duke show came on Nick at Nite in the Fall of 1988.
