Slade had by now lost the plot, and despite touring exhaustively around the country in universities and working mens clubs the only other place to see them was on kids TV...a truly staggering waste of time and poor judgement.
Cheggers Plays Pop was aired at 4.30 in the afternoon to take advantage of the school children who would be sitting down at home after a hard days algebra, why Slade thought that this demographic would support them in the aforementioned clubs and pachooli oiled uni's is beyond me...and everyone else since...but here it is......Slade - Give Us A Goal - Cheggers Plays Pop

i remember a clip of the guys playing a charity match with robert plant, cant remember where when etc,same year though! magpie rings a bell, had the soundtrack but was for sure not the promo..! some live clips and some football scenes.... any one remember¿?!?!¿? jimmy lea.......} fuckin great!

I know just about every clip known to mankind...there has never been a clip featuring Robert Plant at all.

The only clip that even remotely has the band and football in the same street is the 'official' promotional video clip for this track....which was filmed at brighton & hove albions mickey mouse football ground....it is widely available here on youtube....

A couple of points: There are those cynics who would suggest that "Give Us A Goal" was not one of the more, shall we say, distinguished singles that Slade made during the 1970's ...... but one only has to listen to some of the awful stuff that passes for pop "music" nowadays to appreciate just how good that track was - and is.

Secondly, it is worth pointing out that, had this record been released 5 years earlier [in 1973] it would almost certainly have been a sizeable hit.

I reckon this song should have been a hit, it's silly, snappy happy rock'n'roll. Dave Hill looks so funny with no hair in this clip, almost like the precursor to Angry Anderson.

i know a lot of clips too m8, i brought u all the U.S 75 film, the boston soundboard 72 and the film that went with it.. and my big bruv got u 'set of six.. ' The different clips from oz, with frank zappa and then the other news reports... is it possible its just not surfaced yet like the reading or donnington films? or the apollo or edinburgh odeon? u know they were all filmed aye?! we all got our sources brother!
