Recess: Rachel Tells Off Jake

Rachel asks Ada to get rid of Russ at least until the hearing starts and Rachel can find out what's going on. Ada asks where she's supposed to take Russ, to Brazil? Rachel suggests Ada take Russ to the cafeteria before Kelsey's people get hold of him, and before he testifies. They wonder who asked Russ to be here, because neither Cass nor Kevin would have. Rachel thinks maybe the board wanted an unsinkable character witness for Jamie, but the board doesn't know that Jamie called Russ for advice the morning he made the decision about who got the position in the mentor program. Rachel asks Ada to please get rid of Russ, and Ada says she'll do what she can, then happily greets Russ and spirits him off to the cafeteria.

Jamie emerges from the amphitheater surrounded by reporters asking him if the Corys really blackmailed Jake McKinnon. Paulina overhears and is horrified, wondering what Jake has done. Jamie fills Rachel in on Jake's testimony, and Rachel gets so angry that she tells off Jake. She tells Jake she doesn't want to hear a word from him and she's had it with him. He hasn't changed at all, and he went in there to humiliate Jamie, but he will not win. Paulina jumps to Jake's defense, prompting Rachel to say that she doesn't know who she feels sorrier for, Jake or Paulina. She then tells Jake that she will personally see to it that Jake pays for what he's done to her family.

Rachel then asks Cass how it looks from his end. Cass tells her that it looks dreadful; Jake's testimony is going to have an enormous effect on the panel's decision. Cass assures Rachel that he does still have a few trump cards. Rachel tells Cass to help Jamie, because he needs all the help he can get right now. Thanks to Janie for the scenes.
