Not much to say here other than that this man is one of the greatest squash players of all time. He plays the game in the right spirit, fights hard, is really tough to beat and is an exemplery sportsman on court cause of his honesty and fair play.

We squash players are lucky to have been blessed with such a fine champion and an amazing ambassador for our sport.

I wish him all the best for an even brighter future. This is my tribute to one of my role models, the one and only : 'Peter Nicol'...

  • Just putting out there : I like your videos, but is it possible to have any better quality ? I don't know whether it is because of the videos you get these clips from or because of any sort of limit imposed by youtube on the file size. I'm just wondering, because if it were possible, those would be really really awesome.

  • It's a little bit of both, and they r slightly in better quality as the master videos I have on my PC but 'slightly' is the key word here, plus these aren't financed digital productions so I do the best I can with the product I find

  • He is great but Jansher was the best

  • agreed, but then u shud be commenting on the jansher's videos.. thanx anyways

  • so.. what is the ranking of peter .. see the two rankings between shabana and nicol

  • Nicol's retired now, so he doesn't have a ranking and when he was playing, he was the world's number 1 player for 60 months, again like I mentioned earlier, u obviously have an axe to grind against Peter and were trying to be a very unbiased person in ur comment, but only 'trying' and obviously failing miserably, dont bother commenting anymore, if u plan to keep this up

  • JonathOn's attitude on court was questionable to say the least, he was a great athlete but he had no respect what so ever towards his oponents or the referee. Peter on the other hand was a brilliant champion, hard working, respectful and above all a squash god.

''the best of all time'' is just a matter of personal preference, for some people it will only be Jansher Khan, for others others.

  • to become a top ten world squash player you have to be a champion.they are all champion's and gods.squash is one on one, like boxing but much more difficult,i know i do both and squash is harder of the two.you have to be a supreme athlete and use your brain and your instinct too.they are all champions.nowdays is much more diificult because the gap is so tight between the top ten players.knan palmer nicol shabana gaultier power they are all champs.

  • I had to turn off the sound to get rid of that carnival music.

  • Great footage, really shows how awesome Nicol was, not so sure bout the music, but thanks for uploading! :)

  • jehangir and jansher khan were the best sqaush players what u talking about?

  • @mrbobevans

I just think all of the racket sports are tremendously unique and varied.

  • @mrbobevans

Tennis is far less homogenized and is an absolute battlefield with the nature of some of the long 5 set matches where one needs to be focused for 4 plus hours.

    Apples and oranges.

I will say though that boxing came out as the toughest sport after a bunch of ESPN sports experts judged a variety of sports in many categories.

  • I am a tennis player. But squash requires so much more reaction and creativity. Tennis is more one dimensional than squash. My old tennis coach said that the average tennis point lasts 4 shots - with the serve and return of serve being two of the points.

  • one of the best defenders the game has ever seen, and his attacking is equally incredible.

  • Squash was rated by Forbes as the most strenuous sport. I am a tennis player and there is no comparison in fitness requirements. In my hometown of Louisville, KY USA, squash is only played by the wealthy preppies. The sport desperately needs to be in the public parks where free access will really grow the game.

  • move to england we have squash courts gallore mate.that's why you don't and won't see an american in the top 30 ever because they keep the sport too themselves.
