This recording is of a public lecture given at the University of Leicester by Gary Younge, US correspondent for the Guardian newspaper. The lecture was part of a series supported by the Economic and Social Research Council; focusing on Ethics and the War on Terror, also Politics, Multiculturalism and Media.

The Lecture was recorded on Friday November 9th 2007 and was organised by Dr. Gillian Youngs, Department of Media and Communication at the University of Leicester.

  • His lecture makes me think of what W.I. Thomas said: "If men define situations as real, they are real in their consequences"

  • Great guy and great intellect. Respect. But why's he wearing a sweater that makes him look like he' just put down the Sun, finished his cuppa and come off the building site to give this talk?
