@steelzndeelz When you buy a ticket from Spirit, you only pay for the seat on the plane. When you buy a ticket from other carriers ( and usually pay more), you pay for your seat plus carry on. Spirit does not want to include the price of carry on in your ticket price, such is their business model. There is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

This is about greed, nothing else. If they were really concerned about people who abuse the size limits, they would just stop them. You are a damned fool if you book a Spirit flight, especailly after how they treated customers during the strike.

and they're not charging 45 for a carryon.. they only charge 45 after you pass the online option of 10 bucks and the ticket counter option to pay for it there, if it fits under your seat its free, if it doesnt and you dont pay it before you arrive at the gate then yes, they'll make you pay 45. Also they have reduced their fares 40 dollars on average and reduced the checked bag fee.. I think it's on the mid teens for your checked bag...
