in theory could you drop a 5 cyclinder motor from a coupe gt and put in a 4000s that only has a 1.8L no turbo?

in theory YES.
although i would recommend switching the brakes too.
it should be no problem because the 4000s quattro had a 5 cylinder engine from the start.
but, why not use a 5 cylinder turbo ? ;-) would also work :-)
