Mazda RX8 top speed

April 2006, a few weeks after I got my Mazda RX8... This is the top speed I got on camera (231kph = 143mph), but the actual top speed of the RX8 is around 245kph (152mph) stock... I did reach the 245kph top speed but never with a camera onboard.

I like this car quite a bit, but your driving in this video is shit. What you did to that red car is borderline harassment, too close, foo fast, overtaking on the right, and when passing the SUV you've blocked the second red car leaving him perhaps a 2 metres space. That's not stupid, nor is it crazy, it's just simply bad driving. Please don't quote Germany as an excuse for your offensive driving, for the crap you pulled in a 2 minute video alone, you'd get here at least 4 points in flensburg.

I am not saying you are wrong. You are totally right in a country where everybody respects the distance, and people pull to the right when not passing.

Now the thing is, I expect a car to pull to the right when another car comes faster behind her (which I do).

Something else, if you keep a large distance (with the red car), they will NEVER EVER pull to the right, only way to have them move is to get close so they understand you want to pass... And even then..

Now I am not saying my driving is perfect, I am being agressive, which happens to me sometimes after having 10's of cars never pulling to the right...

But I do not think my driving was unsafe, and in my opinion, that is the only important thing...

That is a good point, but see, when you look at your own video - the left lane, when you do the initial maneuver is slightly faster than the right one, they were actually overtaking the other cars (just not quite as fast as you ;))

But I'll admit, I find it peculiar that they didn't switch lanes when you approached, perhaps the red car drivers thought that the paint job would make them faster.

i know that my ml500 could beat any time the rx8. i have a v8 5.0 liter with 367 horses because i have a high flow muffler that added horses to my ml500 plus an intake plus something else...the thing is that my ml500 kick ass i could beat a ml55 amg with no problem at all. Me and my boy were racing and he has a evo and i smoked him quick. it was stock though, anyways in other words my ml500 is quick plus im willing to upgrade my mercedes computer, is it going to be very quick simobk?

Hey man. Glad to see you have well thought our arguments and can admit you had some bad habits (one hand at high speed). That's rare on youtube. Usually it's "No I don't, you do!" Good job keeping your cool. I did not think your driving was bad other than yes; it's obviously illegal at those speeds. But the entire point of the video was to see high speed in an RX8. If someone doesn't like it, don't watch it.

i havent gotten then chance yet to top out my rx-8 but i know it wont when any races on a straight away but it has the best handling at high speeds something these american cars dont have

I've done 151 mph roughly 243 kmh...and it still could off gone up some more...so I think the actual top speed is 271 kmh since I have seen it on the RX8 that was in the autobahn...

Tell you what, fast driving doesn't kill people... if you're driving in a good road. This road seems to be quite bumpy and uneven to drive at such high speeds. In Germany you're at best allowed to drive 100 kph on a road of this quality.

That being said, the car is awesome... and I don't really care what you do over there. In fact, noone but the highway patrol should care... at least as long as you're not killing anyone on the road ^^
