The Lunatic, the Lover, and the Poet--a new novel from Myrlin A. Hermes. What if Hamlet wasn't mad--but gay? Laced with quotes, wordplay, thespian in-jokes, theatrical performances, cross-dressing, bed-tricks and a bisexual love-triangle based on Shakespeare's own sonnets. Very nicely done. I can't believe you did that yourself. (I just read your guest blog on Nathan Bransford.)
Did it help much? My publisher did my trailer (for "Columbine") and it was tougher reaching an audience for the trailer than the book. Haha.
It might be easier once readers know they exist. Maybe.

I've read the book. I LOVED the book. I can thoroughly vouch for the author's true dedication to artfully, creatively, and stylistically recreating the wonder of Shakespeare's characters. I'm a high school English teacher and I don't automatically praise a book simply because it has been published. There is a lot of garbage out there that is simply aimed at the lowest common denominator. At last, something for a true literary devotee!

I heartily recommend the book. It's very well-researched, well-thought-out, and a damned fun read!
