I think Canadian Gold was better, but this theme SOUNDS LIKE HOCKEY. The arrangement is wonderful, with the bells thrown in there, the Alex Lifeson wailing guitar at the end.. it sounds both cold and violent - the essence of hockey.

I hope someone uses this for something.

It's not even close, this is above and beyond the new "Canadian Gold" theme...

This should have been the winner, it's just as good as the original.

I agree this song should have one i mean I liked the other one but lets face it Canadian Gold is too Celtic it would be great for something like soccer but not hockey and Eleventh Hour is nothing like the other contestants who were just basically copying the old theme and Eleventh Hour was also new and fresh which is nice.

Canadian Gold is good, but it's the theme song equivalent of a one-hit wonder. CBC will have a heck of a time ever recreating Canadian Gold and keeping it fresh. How many versions of the original theme were there? I just can't see them making more than one version of Canadian Gold.

Eleventh Hour on the other hand has far more potential to be recreated.

Side note - did you know that the bagpipes weren't even in the original Canadian Gold submission? Bob Rock added them after the fact.
