Part 2: Can we communicate with the dead? Certified Medium Rev. Sherry Lee Calkins says we can. She explains Spiritualism, a religious system which claims that "communication with the dead is a scientifically-proven fact." She shares a story of spiritual contact with her deceased mother, and talks about her work with angels. For five generations, Sherry's family has lived in Lily Dale, NY, a members-only community of spiritualists and mediums. Since its beginning in 1879, such figures as Mahatma Gandhi, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Franklin D. Roosevelt has sought advice and counsel from Lily Dale's resident spiritualists. Host is Pittsburgh Theosophical Society President Andy Nesky.
I've had a reading with her; she's the real deal.

Also, there is absolutely nothing "demonic" about this. They are highly devout, loving, light-serving people. Your religion has filled you with fear, and your religion has a very long history of doing more evil than that which you'd foist upon another. Ever heard of the inquisition?

You know, it's understandable to be skeptic, but until you go to Lily Dale and experience the things she's discussing, you're ignorant. Thousands of us have experienced it first hand and it's for real. Your bitterness is probably because you've been had by charlatans. I'd definitely like to slap *them*.

"Scientific"!... This bitch wouldn't know what science was if it slapped her in the face. Which I wish it would.

I agree that this would be evidence: for her and her sister present, but it obviously isn't scientific since their private knowledge is not testable for the community. For that it needs to be repeatable under controlled conditions.
I do not belong to those who reduce reliable knowledge to scientific evidence, nevertheless I would insist that to be called scientific evidence needs to follow the defining procedures of science, and even a great mass of non-repeatable incidents does not satisfy it.

How dare this woman say this is a Protestant movement! A "certified medium" . Certified by whom? Satan himself? Please look up "familiar spirits". These demonic beings are the ones responsible for the communications that these mediums claim.
