Donavan Hanoverian Stallion at Midwest Horse Fair 2003

Donavan, an elite Hanoverian stallion gave many exhibitions for the promotion of Dressage and his breed during 2000-2005 He was also competing at the FEI levels of Dressage, up to Grand Prix during that period, with his "Lady" JJ Tate. Donavan, a remarkable stallion was also breeding a full book of mares. He is 18 here.
Donavan is known for his exemplary temperament, willingness to work and learn, and for throwing his movement substance and mind to his foals. He crosses very well with the TB and Arabian mares now often used in the warmblood registries for refinement, as well as with those refined warmblood mares. He carries with him esteemed bloodlines that should not be lost to the warmblood breeding. There is nothing Old Fashioned about Quality!
His sire Derwisch (Duft II/Dirk/Duellant.). stood at the state stud at Celle, Germnay until his death, His dam Akelei is from the highly sought after A line, Argentan/Absatz/Abglanz.
He has been owned by Wendy and Marty Costello since 1999. Prior to their ownership Donavan was ridden by George Williams who had great success with Donavan up through the lower levels of Dressage and to his Grand Prix.

Donavan is still available for breeding via excellent frozen semen, will sell in a package, several doses at a very fair price. He is retired at Kent Island Sporthorses in MD, with the Costellos. HIs offspring represent him well in many disciplines, Dressage, Eventing, jumping and Hunter ring

older technology takes a bit of more doing. these were first on a video tape! and we have to go from small tape to dvd or something..but we will get it!

Thanks for posting this. I was at Donavan's final performance at the Midwest Horse Fair. I love seeing him. It brought tears to my eyes.
