On April 8, 2010 the city of Indianapolis announced the closing of six library branches. Among them is the Spades Park Public Library of the Windsor Park Neighborhood. This small library which inhabits a facility purchased by Andrew Carnegie and was opened to the public in 1912 is a vital part of an one of Indianapolis' most impoverished areas. We must speak out in opposition to those how have proposed to close it permanently.
