@69fatwhitechick - Cal left a 5 star program in a third world state , called Kentucky.Calipari has always had a reputation as a coach who bends the rules, and in this case maybe breaks them, when it comes to recruiting. When Calipari was at UMass, they had to vacate their wins from their Final Four run with Marcus Camby in 1995-96 because Camby took $28,000 from an agent while in college.
Memphis also faces. sanctions.Leave the northeast and go from 1 shithole to another.

When was your last title ?
-
@42marisol1 You may be right but honestly we don't give a shit. We cheer for our team cause kentucky basketball is the only thing we have in kentucky, except for meth labs. and about the coaching thing, we don't hire coaches, coaches just come to us first. Cal left a 5 star Memphis program for a team that didn't even make the tourny the year before. Gillespie left A&M when they at the verge of becoming one of the top teams in the nation. all i;m saying is yeah, kentucky sucks but we love it

@69fatwhitechick - Who does follow Kentucky football ? I have a friend who was an offensive lineman at UK when Couch was QB. Your basketball program is overhyped as Calipari only recruits one and dones. It's hard to go far with kids that young.
You guys who live in the armpit (maybe anus) of America think that you have a special basketball team. You hire Northeast coaches who have been successful and have dubious ethics and think that it is a good thing.
Fans are as stupid as the players.

I am not a UCLA nor Pac 10 fan but it seems to me that they have a few (understatement) titles in Westwood. They have 11 NCAA titles with the most recent being in 1995. Kentucky last won in '98.
Lexington as titletown is a joke.
-
@42marisol1 yeah. i'm just saying since 1950, were not a consistent team. Correct me if i'm wrong but were good two or three years in the 70's, suckie in the 80's, and the late 90's when we had tim couch we were at our best, then in 07 when we were ranked 8? we still only made it to the Music city bowl..........i don't really track kentucky sports back the 50's unless it was basketball

How can Lexington be titletown when Duke has won 4 titles and North Carolina 3 in the last 20 years. Those Universities are like 7 miles apart.
Kentucky has managed only 2 titles in the last 20 years.
UK no titles in the in the 80's while NC and NC State won 1 each and Georgetown , Villanova also won titles in the 80's.
In the last 20 years Duke has been to the NCAA championship game 7 times , winning 4. NC three times in the Final and won them all.
UK has no claim to titletown!
-
UK titletown??. Since 2001 the eventual NCAA champ came from the ACC 5 times and Big East 2 times. 7 of the last 10 national champions have been from the 2 best conferences- ACC and Big East. Only Florida twice and Kansas in 2008 have won the other 3 titles. Kentucky none.
If you put things into perspective since 57 North Carolina has won 5 titles,Duke 4, NC State 2 and Maryland 1.Big East- Syracuse 2, UConn 2, Georgetown1, Vilanova 1, Louisville 2 , Marquette 1.
In this time UK has only 3

@69fatwhitechick - In 1950 the Kentucky football was ranked 7th in the nation and defeated #1 Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl. Kentuckians like to say that this made them number 1. By the way, the coach was Bear Bryant. This was a somewhat valid argument when one considers the median IQ (that of zippy the pinhead) of a Kentucky native.
