A government-managed visit by foreign reporters to Tibet's capital backfired Thursday when Buddhist monks disrupted the tour, screaming that there was no religious freedom and that the Dalai Lama was not to blame for Lhasa's recent violence.

The government had arranged the trip for the reporters to show how calm Lhasa was after the deadly riots shattered the city.

The outburst by a group of 30 monks came as the journalists were being shown around the Jokhang Temple, one of Tibet's holiest shrines.

  • Those reporters stayed in Tibet for several days, but all of them only show this 2min video clip!? Who is controlling the media? I want to see more reports, more videos from Tibet.

  • AgainstCommunists

You know what your name reminds me? Your name sounds like a Nazi! Really! LOL. Very predictable.

  • 46,000 monks in Tibet ! in that monastery they particularly visited that day, I bet you thats all there are! You know the chinese Government allow these monks to stay in the monastery just to show the journalist or tourist that the monks are allowed to practice their religion....it's all lie, man...I know the violence in Tibet was bad but they are at the point of doing such things to get world's attention..it's sad !

  • Pay attention people. Chinese communist government is now concentrating in control the media. All the negative comments and pro Communist China come from the people which called watch dog of regim. Most of them got paid by the government to support China government and distort the truth. All the Chinese who really know the actual ugly face of China government got blocked to enter YouTube. Keep it up people. FREE TIBETT, BOYCOTT OLYMPIC 2008.

  • The truth is there are 46,000 monks in Tibet. Here we see 30 of those complaining. People should know there are very intense religious sects competition in TIbet. Why they're crying? May be they're bullied by other monks from other sects. LOL. Dalai can not go back to TIbet becasuse other big monks do not want him to come back at all. Don't blame it on the Chinese government. LOL

  • I recommend a book named "A History of Modern Tibet, 1913-1951: The Demise

: of the Lamaist State" by Melvyn C. Goldstein. He is a leading expert on

: Tibetan studies in the US.
