Wind Power!

Hi I'm John Fischer and welcome to StickerGiant, did you know that StickerGiant's office in Colorado are 100% wind powered? Today we are going to go check them out.

Ok, here we are in Vance Brand Airport in Longmont, CO. The wind energy that we get comes to us via Xcel Energy and they have a partnership with Wind Source, a company that has wind farms all over the country. So today we are going to do a fly over and check out a wind farm near Peetz Colorado.

Peetz Colorado is about 120 miles Northeast in the Northeast corner of the state near Sidney, Colorado.

OK, I got to talk really loud because it is so loud in the airplane, we have been flying for about 40 minutes and we are coming up on the Peetz area wind farm run by windsource. We have been flying over windmills for 15 minutes, its really been amazing.

We are going to lower our altitude and get a better look. So here we are right on level with these things and the scale is amazing, the boxes on the top of these things are as big as school buses. The scale of the effort is amazing. We need to climb our altitude, we are getting close to windmills.

OK, I've arrived in Sidney, Colorado which is near the Peetz windfarm, and we are going to go visit Cabela's, one of the giant Cabelas store in the middle of nowhere and have lunch.

We have arrived at Cabelas and this is the first Cabelas store I have been in and it is gigantic. They have everything you would want for an outdoor lifestyle, and a lot of it is really good stuff.

All right, OUr rest stop in Sidney, Colorado is over and that ends our tour of the Peetz area wind farm in cooperation with XcelEenergy.
