  • You dont have a clue...!! Call it whatever you want, but not chimichurri...!1in argentina we use no cilantro, we use parsley and oregano and olive oil and garlic , the rest is according to your taste, if you like it hot, somo chili flakes.

    And thats it...!!!

    And chimichurrie on empanadas...!!??

Here in america people loves to dip food on anything, as in general food is tastless...!!! chimichurri is a good thing..!!!

  • Sorry totally false, real chimichurri does not get cilantro, considering that it is a typical sauce from Uruguay and Argentina. (Not Just from Argentina)

The real one just gets, olive oil, white vinegar garlic oregano, salt and some red pepper that all, very simple not big deal.

  • Too bad there is no cilantro where you live. Oregano would be good but I prefer cilantro or even parsley. To each his own!

  • that is not true, real chimichurri does not get cilantro, considering that it is a typical sauce from Uruguay and Argentina. (Not Just from Argentina)

  • thisis american chimichurri.. lol only 2 cloves of garlic??? come on!

I agree.. this is not chimichurri lol cilantro??? LOL

  • As many other countrymates from argentina say, this is COMPLETE BS. thats not chimichurri at ALL. true, it has garlic and oil, but thats about all the similarities. True chimichurri is made of whateve is left on the kitchen, generally garlic, oil, peppers of many types, more garlic, more oil....and then you mix it all real good, and when you are done eating, you keep whatever is left on the bottle and fill it again with whatever is left on the next asado (BBQ) so its an ever evolving work.

  • cilantro in chimichurri??? bull shi....

  • this is complete bullshit

  • @jodido58 What I am trying to get people to understand is that you can do any variation to fit your taste but its not chimichurri.

I know people who put mangoes and all sort of things, really spicy, but the essence of the real one is not that.

It is not a marinade or a dipping sauce, simple stuff made by simple people.. nothing fancy but good for any kind of meats after being grilled. thats it.

And please people you dont need to disrespect others people point of view,
