Making it in Make Up: First Step

This video is for those of you interested in a full time career as a successful professional make-up artist. So many have written to me asking for advice but mostly they dont say what type of make-up artist they would like to be or they say they want to do films, TV and fashion. This is my take on the very first thing you need to consider when thinking about a career and is based on my own experiences. Sorry its so long (I had a lot to say!) but hopefully its helpful to all of you that asked for advice on making to the top in make-up! x

@drmaryam28 YouTube make-up Gurus become YT partners and then sell advertising against their videos to make money from views. There are also brand sponsored reviews & make-up use and afilliate links. It can become a full time job/business and has little in common with being a working make-up artist x

Hi! I'm a 16 year old girl living in Los Angeles, and I aspire to be a high-fashion makeup artist. My inspiration is Pat McGrath. I'm working on my portfolio now, but I'm kind of stuck as to where to get things going. I've been absolutely in love with the art of makeup for roughly 2 years now, and I think I've acquired the skills to really get things going, for example an internship or something along those lines.
