watch closely, at 0:54 he throws his pick away, then at 1:16 he gets another one thats probably attached to the guitar or on himself. he does that every time he needs to switch from one to both guitars and vice versa.
at 1:40 he throws away, at 3:50 he gets another one off his guitar, and at 4:33 he throws ayaw again.
