Love at the beginning Wogan always tried to make the best of our songs and why not? This one is pretty catchy and fun. Why do 99% of comments about it seem so negative, when you compare it to the likes of Ukraine or some other bland songs we or other countries have come out with?

I've heard worse. The problem is nowadays, we don't put anyone in that can be a chart-topper.. such is the demand in eurovision these days and when we do put someone young and refreshing in it's usually a joke act like this. I agree with you though, Scooch definitely were special and eurovision enthusiasts from all countries won't fforget this performance for a while, we really went some way to out-do the ridiculous performance from Ukraine of the same year.

The other option, other than getting an American as lead or co-lead vocalist, is to avoid entering veterans and long-dormant has-beens. But to be honest, I think Bonnie might have fared a little better if her voice didn't give way before the weekend. Courageous it was for her to give it her best shot with the voice she had.

The last time they won, in 1997, the lead singer (Katrina Leskanich) was American. They might have to consider trying that again if they want to get back in the top 10. As for Scooch, the song sounds like it came from the mid-1990s.
