In 1998, VH-1 asked many of music's top artists to name their choices for the greatest artists in Rock 'n Roll and here's who they came up with. Bob Dylan came in at #5 on VH1's 100 Greatest Artists of Rock & Roll.

  • @dancetotheradio19 yes bob dylan is easily number one ! ! !

bob dylan is easily more influential than the beatles ! ! !

and yes bob dylan's songwriting destroys any artists ! ! !

  • @Pasalaqcua No one cares whether it was dad rock or not the fact that you bring it up as dad-rock worries, And composers now a days give credit because things are different now a days. Also, You wouldn't dare say More Than A Feeling was stolen would you? Because Smells like teen spirit sounds like it, And More Than a feeling sounds like Louie Louie. People have been creating different variations of older music for centuries.

  • @MunisAwesome The great composers gave credit and cited influences. Don't think you're superior to anyone because you listen to dad-rock.

  • @Pasalaqcua I never said not giving credit was a good thing, It's a shame they didn't. But Think about what you just said because calling them thieves in that situation would mean your basically calling nearly all the greatest composers of the later times of the classical era thieves. Which is a disgusting thought to think about,You'd get demolished by classical lovers. There's an early warning for you.

  • @MunisAwesome "Just didn't give credit"

Good job altering the words to make it sound less worse. They were thieves.

  • @Pasalaqcua They didn't really steal, Just didn't give any credit. Because their covers were EXTREMELY different. Don't let a few songs ruin a whole music career. And the finished version of Dazed and Confused which lasted for an hour was far more sophisticated then the original. You wouldn't dare say Wolfgang Amadeus is a theif because he took older songs and created new variations without credit.

  • @MunisAwesome Led ripped off Blues artists of the 40's and 50's. A majority of their hits are stolen.

  • @LedStones4 Bob Dylan's lyrics are better then the songs Led Zeppelin wrote, But Led Zeppelin created better tunes. And Led Zeppelin's improvisation was a lot better as Bob Dylan's improvisation was non-existent.

  • no dislikes. that's how it should be.

I mean, my #1 is MCR, and they've been around for a decade. Bob has been going for over five times that and he's still as profound and honest as he ever was
