Ronno Bender (Sola Sound Tone Bender MK1 clone) Mick Ronson's tone at your feet

The Ronno Bender is a fine replica of the legendary Sola Sound Tone Bender MK1, the long lost Holy Grail of the british fuzzes. The MK1 was seen at the feet of Jeff Beck in the Yardbirds era, it was also used by Pete Townshend back in the sixties. But the most notable and dedicated user of the MK1 and with greater effect was Mick Ronson in the good old days of The Spiders from Mars with David Bowie.
Mick Ronson played a Gibson Les Paul Custom guitar through a Crybaby pedal, the Tone Bender and and then to a 200W Marshall Major amplifier.
The Crybaby is another key factor to get the Ronson sound. Mick Ronson used to leave the wah-wah in a fixed position, normally on the bass side to have that gorgeous filtered sound.
As you'll notice, all of this demo is played with a parked wah wah.

Okay, firstly the pedal sounds like it nails the tone. I cannot afford it though. The Aladdin is also spectacular. The comment I want to make is the player doing this demo is jaw droppingly amazing. Chills down my spine just listening him effortlessly lay these Ronson trademark riffs. I cannot say how much hearing these riffs played so expertly has made my day. I thank you.
