You should try Bio Sculpture gel manicures.....shellac is not as strong and is a cheaper option generally. However with Bio, it protects the nail and promotes growth and comes in flexible or solid finishes to suit the nail type. And you don't have to buff to apply meaning the technician doesn't damage the natural nail. Though having just read below that you dont have to buff for shellac, I think a lot of people must as they feel it adheres better. I know a lot of shellac ladies round me do buff!

sounds like the "salon" you went to is crap! prolly one of those "quickie" places. try an actual salon with people who know what they r doing. then I'm sure you will love the shellac!

Sounds to me like the salon you went to isn't that clued up on shellac. You shouldn't need to buff for shellac and should also only use the cnd lamp. I use shellac and had no problems apart from when I first started and was applying to thick! also prep is very important. so don't let it put you off. try an other salon :)

try gelish, it's better

This sounds more like a review of the salon you went to and less about the Shellac ;o)

Never had an issue with shellac, I work with it, it's amazing, the secret is to apply it thin and you won't get any wrinkle..
Too many bad nail tech around, it makes me mad!!!

It depends on where you get it done. Did you go to a real nail salon, or a cheap and quick nail salon? I do Shellac, I've never had a problem with it. I did go to get it done before I purchased the system and they did not use a cnd lamp and they cooked my nails... also I was there for 2 hours because they applied it sooo thick it was wrinkling... they did it 3xs before it woeked out.
Try again, it is amazing!
yeah cos its such an "ordeal" putting your hands under a uv light!!

@pinksugar17 It's kind of an ordeal when it takes over an hour :) In my opinion.
