Kelly Townsend, a Gilbert resident and member of the Greater Phoenix Tea Party, demanded that McCain apologize for a comment made last month on the Senate floor about "tea party hobbits."

The remark came during the heated debt-ceiling debate when McCain was reading from a Wall Street Journal editorial.

"But Hobbits were shown that, despite their small stature, they have heroic natures and stand up for what they believe in despite overwhelming odds. And they're good looking too. @Sammerkona I'd rather have a government I can vote in our out controlling our healthcare than a corporation that has high overhead and even more bureaucracy. Profit over a person's life is evil. There is plenty incentive to work, just NO jobs for those who are unemployed. You honestly think people like being on government assistance? How can somebody working two minimum wage jobs be able to purchase health care? Health care is not and should not be a commodity.

@Sammerkona Yeah Obama is part of the problem. This isn't a red vs. blue game. The top 1% do NOT pay for 40% of taxes. You can look line by line on cuts made from the poor and money given to the rich. It's a scheme and it's killing this country.
