Spanking is childabuse! No matter the so-called "method". I have a masters degree in pedagogics: believe me, there are other ways of getting better results, non of which involve putting your children in harms way, be it psychological or physical harm.

The holding down until a child surrenders is meant for children who have RAD and super egos. He talks of eye contact and soft words while holding. It works - its necessary with disturbed children, (unless they are very psychotic).

There is ALOT of love in that book. It talks about love and not quitting on kids. It does not talk about drawing blood. Its methods are far gentler than you will see in any culture/family group of animals. If a lioness does not nip a cub when it is too rough, it will grow up to be an abusive bully unable to work in it society and it will starve to death. Discipline is for the benefit of teaching society rules.

Ugh, there is a huge difference between following book advice and being psychotic, then blaming a book to try and escape the law.

I love these guys who have degrees teaching people how to raise children. My grandparents spanked me on occasion. I love them deeply. I am not in counseling. I don't have nightmares. These people are on a misson and its not a good one.

what a discusting human being. I have 5 kids and I have never raised a hand to them. I know how to discipline my children the PRPOER way. Good Lord, who does this guy think he is???

I'm just happy that physical abuse of any kind (including spanking, say what you want about that) is illegal in my country and has been so for a long time.

You can raise your children into well-adapted and healthy individuals without EVER laying hands on them.
