  • Early disco move by Mr. Robinson at :29!

  • how on earth did a lovely bit of song and dance by an adorable and gifted child and a very very talent black man foster such vitriolic debate? so silly

  • @Carvinter WHAT POSESSED YOU TO EVER LEAVE ALABAMA ? YOU SHOULD HAVE STAYED. MAYBE YOU COULD HAVE HELPED SOME OF THE 3 - BRAIN - CELLED REDNECK REBELS

  • Obama and Pelosi figure out how to raise revenues.

  • @jazzscherzo actually no

  • @iralevifan I can see that you've no basic idea of the mores of basic Southern 50's culture. It was an era where a black man could be arrested for "reckless eyeballing" a white woman, let alone whistling at one. Till's behavior that day, I believe, famously led us down that slippery slope that's so rampant today- especially in Harlem where I was partially raised. Special programs encouraging good behavior is front page news, because clearly, it's far from the norm in that community.

  • @Carvinter -Ignorant isn't an insult-just means you don't know.why should whistling at a woman be reason for murder or destruction of a community? I see well-behaved,polite gatherings of inner-city kids all the time. See the kids in Harlem's 100 block program.Look at the depression, homicidal feelings and drug abuse that plague privileged, suburban kids. Again..what is your point?

  • @iralevifan I'd never stoop so low as to call anyone who disagreed with me ignorant, but I am baffled that you can make sense out of a drive-by shooting. Deliberately putting one's life in danger (as well as a whole community), is not youthful rebellion, but the height of ignorance. I was in Alabama as a youth, and I've lived in the inner-city. I know from whence I speak- real life experience, not isolation.

  • @Carvinter- I still don't see how youthful rebellion warrants cold-blooded murder. The examples you cited ( , Rosewood, Tulsa, etc) are examples of the barbaric nature of bigoted whites. The actions of a gangbanger in a drive-by makes more sense than white people bringing children to watch the lynching of another human being for a social slight. To think that any group of inner city kids will display 'mindless' behavior only shows how ignorant and isolated you are. Do some research b4 you speak
