Right to Carry Concealed. Montana is a "Shall Issue" state and has the best gun laws of any State in the US and better than most other countries.
Get Gary Marbut's book "The Gun Laws of Montana" to see how your state's laws should be. Good concealed carry laws reduce crime. That is a proven fact. When law abiding citizens carry guns criminals go somewhere else to do their dirt.

You are ignorant. It does not matter how hard you legislate gun ownership. Any nut job will still be able to get a gun. Do you really think they buy them legally?

Montana gives the sheriff discretion on whether to issue a permit if he says he has a concern. That concern is not necessarily backed up by law. So Montana does not have the best law.

@ridgerunner98570 You are right and we are changing that. There is a bill on the governors desk right now passed by the legislature allowing permitless concealed carry if one is eliglible to buy and own a firearm.

fairlanejay. You completely missed the point. Criminals don't obey gun laws.
They don't care what is written down as law. We have an absolute right to self defense. Nobody is going to make a criminal of me because I carry my handgun.
You think some law is going to stop a real criminal from carrying a handgun to a public event? That is total insanity.
