@enterprise1954 Inspiration on Jingo and Soul Sacrifice is evident but well taken. Titanic was a powerful collectors band with at least 5 classic tracks. I'd dare guesing the chorus on Sultana might have even been inspired by crowd chants in the Woodstock festival/movie. Just my imagination?
@hish55 Santana were already big before this was recorded. Don't you think the title of the track is a clue? Check the band's website and you'll see that they acknowledge the link
I remember it well and thinking it WAS Santana. First heard it on the CBS triple-album sampler 'The Music People' in 1971.
thank you for posting this great piece, used to hear it everyday in the late 60s. lots a memories. great great music. yes absolutely before Carlos Santana
@MrErlingT Sorry, but according to the book about the band, sultana was recoded at Morgan Studios UK in 1971, and released in a lot of countries the very same year. some record labels read 1970, but that is wrong. No records by Tantanic were at all released until 1970. 1968, you catch a brother off guard with this s**t!!!!
my sister used to bang skin heads to this record, i could hear them through the bedroom wall, lol
