  • @NBNA100 There was also a console called the Sega Nomad. It was not a knockoff. It played Genesis games. It was a fully functional Sega Genesis. It didn't support the add-ons (32X, CD, MS Base) but it did have controller ports and a TV link cable. Also, the GenMobile is fully licensed. I'm actually waiting for mine. Getting it for Christmas.

Also, the GBC had many exclusive games that made the console well worth picking up. I LOVED mine.

Finally, as has been said, the GBA was a 32-bit system.

  • The GBA is actually 32 bit

  • I got a Sega GameGear for the first time about a month ago (with the AC adaptor, of course...) and I absolutely adore it. I can't wait to pick up some more games for it :3 But like yours, my external speaker is busted - so many of them blew because of a batch of faulty capacitors, IIRC.

  • The graphics on the gba were actually more than 16 bit, probably close to 32.

Have you ever checked out Duke Nukem Advance or Doom II?

They both are raw demonstrations of the GBAs power. Also, gen an SP! Built in rechargable batter and backlit light with a loooong battery life.

Thrnagain... you can just use your ds nowadays lol. But I still like the sp, its so small and I like that the screen flips.

  • the sega nomad, but it was never released in the uk so your forgiven

  • The GBA did, however, run at a lower resolution than the SNES, which caused some of its ports to look a bit cramped. Its sound chip also wasn't as good, but it was certainly serviceable. Beyond that, though, it was superior to the SNES is most respects and could do tricks like scaling/rotating sprites that the SNES needed a SuperFX chip to accomplish.
