As a Veteran of the Bay of Pigs invasion of Cuba, I told my commanding officers, including GHW Bush, that I did not want to invade Cuba. JFK then made a peace treaty with the Russians & stopped the invasion of Cuba.

I then got orders to Vietnam.
JFK issued NSAM #263 on Oct 11, 1963 which stopped the Vietnam war. The Navy canceled my orders to Vietnam.
