Dashdouche...So let me get this right...You think its good that we pay 6,000 per capita for healthcare compared to 3,000 in Canada - that 40,000,000 uninsured going to ER's costing even more money is grand, oh thats rights, its 10,000,000 my mistake - that its heavenly that we allow any Citizen, our fellow Americans and countryman pay higher and higher premiums to support 30% admin costs with less and less payouts oh and if they failed to report to be denied - Yes man!, treat others as yourself!

What this socialist bastard from the great state of child molesters fails to tell you is that his 40,000,000 uninsured includes illegal aliens and citizens that CHOOSE not to buy health coverage. After you take out the bullshit, that leaves roughly 10 million people without coverage. He is an avowed socialist, firmly against the American way of life. He needs to honor this country with a contribution such as Ted Kennedy offered a few weeks ago... And the sooner the better.

I disagree. The Insurance companies may have scared a few citizens, but most of them still favor a public option. The objective was never to build a true public consensus against the public option. That would be impossible. The point was as you said, "to bribe [the Democrats] into switching sides."

You see, in America, it really isn't important to win vast public support as most realize that the system is already not working for them. That is why voters are apathetic. But we can change things.

Single Payer was killed. The Public Option has just been killed. The insurance companies plan worked: they scared Americans with a smear campaign and paid thugs at Town Hall meetings to scream down the speakers, and they poured millions of dollars into Democrat Congressmen's pockets, to bribe them into switching sides.

The American voter is too apathetic to make a phone call to their Senator regarding this con job: And so, we deserve what we get; to be enslaved to our insurance company.
