Does the DVAP work as a standard DV dongle if you don't have a radio or if the battery is dead?

No I don't think it does.

When I am soldering wires I put a small dab of solder on the tip before touching the wires. This increases the thermal transfer and heats up things better/faster.

I had no problems ordering. It is possible they are not taking orders until they have more stock.

So you HAVE to have a radio to communicate.....Hmmm...I think the standard "Dongle" might be better for my use...sort of like using Echolink to access a repeater......Thanks George.
BTW, I asked for a DV dongle for Christmas so I will checking in on the various D-Star reflectors! 73 de KM3W

Great video guys. I have both a Raspberry Pi and a DVAP. Check out the G4KLX D-Star software suite. it will run nicely on the Raspberry Pi and can also use the DVAP on the radio side. D-Star gateway in the palm of your hand!

Don't worry. An EH Holden radiator, a little overclocking and we'll soon have it running Windows 7 :)
