  • Maybe it will be a little better when we have 1.3 Billion people.

  • It very easy to be amazing when you have the billions of dollars the Chinese Government Through at the 2008 Games. In the US, in 1996 it was completely privately funded.

  • What a wonderful presentation of the southern states history and culture. Great city and wonderful people. The critism only confirms it-this was the best olympic opening ceremonies ever. Well done Atlanta!!

  • @K80blogfan thats the thing, the old ceremonies werent about technology or money they were about man power, they had hundreds of people puppeteering robots and stuff in the old ceremonies, now its all done by computer, what happened to the pageantry

  • that how atlanta become famous and popular!

  • This was the best part of the opening ceremony. I thought the Thunderbird was great with "rot and destruction" well done. Everybody likes their own nation's history and traditions the best. That is natural and understandable--being ethnocentric is natural--I just remembered the word.

But the designer was a great talent.

    O)))).

  • nt s expensive as that of beijing..but this is really vibrant! i wonder how it will be like if USA holds another olympics!

  • @julius923 plus it was in the 90's. People in the 90's did not have the money think they have now.

  • Great experience for those participating. Not all a/v can be perfect, not all narration can capture all things for everyone, and God knows the haters will never be pleased with anything they didn't do themselves (ahem), but being in this choir was a front row seat at something spectacular. I was so excited, at 7:28 I almost leaned TOO far to my left and fell off the ramp. I'm about mid-way up. This will always be one of the greatest choirs in the world-- the ASOC!!!!

  • that was fabulous!!!!!that is art!!!

  • is better the oponing of Barcelona 92, more emotional and beautiful!

  • LMFAO!!! The thunderbird was ridiculous and the whole thing was just an entire hot mess!
