@soulstorm3 good comments and I agree. I do not believe everything I hear on KLOVE though they are exponentially better than their secular competition. I would like to see folks walk away from TV and movies for a period, I have and it helps. Even "Christian" and family friendly entertainment get in the way and take our focus. Thank you for commenting and watching I value the input of others, together we can grow.
@soulstorm3 So many of us Christians don't know how to consume the Word of God. With the evil that's in the world and our own sinful natures, we find frequently find ourselves in a place where we feel the need to escape, to medicate. We know we need help, we need peace, we need comfort, we need a change. But we don't know that the Bible is an oasis for us believers. We don't know how to rest at the feet of our Good Doctor.
@soulstorm3 *While i enjoy a lot of Christian music, we need to be careful. Critically listen to an hour of Christian radio, and you will get a wild mix of theology - some good, but a lot of it biblically inaccurate. Just because KLOVE endorses an artist or song, doesn't mean it's exactly giving us a clear picture of who God is.
Thanks for your challenge, Scott. A few random thoughts:
*I would go a step further regarding tv and movies. While I love family friendly movies (just saw Blind Side) and tv, I think we still find ourselves using these toned-down versions as an escape from the pain of life. I would challenge people to go a week, a month without a movie or television. Spend that time in the Word or in meaningful conversations. Build relationships.
