  • Your legs aren't straight.

The spot turn is not a spin.

There is no checking action on the forward replace, or any hip action at all really.

Learn to dance before you teach others your bad habits.

  • american cha cha...do the americans have to create an "american version" of everything they see???

  • Hey Amber! I don't know if you will get the message, but I just wanted to say that you are my new favorite dancer! I saw this video a while back and then investigated to see more of your dances on Youtube. I really like how you move your hips and the momentum and foot placement on the walk and rock steps. I also love how you hold you move your shoulders - wish I lived in CA so I could learn from you in person!

  • Hello my Cha Cha friends. Here you will see a parent kind of dance, which isthe samba dance. This video of the Brazilian Carnival practice was shot at New Years 2011 in Rio de Janeiro, I hope you dance lovers like it. ( The samba dancers were using many kinds of bikini & feathered costumes. )

  • @gnr5016965 Banca Banca by E-type

  • Can you tell what song it is playing?

  • yes, the american version is more of a social dance. the international latin ballroom dances tend to be more competitive.

  • The american version is easier to perform and is obviously made for everyone, and it takes more practise and hard work for the international version(and it looks better)

  • Don't worry - I think most people aren't aware that the "latin ballroom" dances are not the same as the original versions. (I know its the same thing with Tango, anyway)

  • ah,thank you, I apologize for my ignorance of that;)

  • It's more a question of "why did the europeans have to create their own version, and then call it the 'international version'!" Chachacha was invented in Cuba. In the 1950s, a French dance teacher (Pierre Zurcher Margolie) visited Cuba, and brought cha-cha back to London, adapting it fairly radically for ballroom tastes. N American ballroom dancers did something similar, but they were more influenced by Cuba than by Margolie. Neither version is original - search for "Cuban Cha Cha" for that.
