Today on this 2007 BMW 335xi we will be installing part number 11756 from Curt. We are underneath the car here, the first thing we have to do is remove 6 hangers to lower our exhaust out of the way so we can put our hitch into place. In order to remove the hangers we are going to need to lube them up with a little WD-40 and just pry them off with a wedge bar. We are going to repeat that for the rearmost two hangers. On the remaining four we are just going to unbolt from the car itself. :29

Before you remove the remaining two hangers on the forward part of the exhaust we are going to go ahead and put a safety strap to help hold our exhaust in position so it does not damage itself or the car. Now that we have our exhaust lowered we are going to put our driver side side plate over the existing plates and nuts of the bumper itself. We are going to be attaching the side plate with the flange nuts that came with the kit. We are going to go ahead and leave those hand tight and do the same for the passenger side as all. 1:02

Now that we have our side plates installed we are going to get our hardware ready for the center plate. We are going to have to fish wire a carriage bolt and block through the existing holes in your cross member and out the existing holes here. First what we are going to do is fish our wire through the existing holes that we will be attaching our hitch to. Next we are going to slide our block over and screw our carriage bolt onto the fish wire. We can try and get it on position as much as we can before we pull it through. We are going to do the same thing on the drivers side. Now that we have our bolts in position, we are going to go ahead and put our center brace up in position, but loosely tightened down. 1:51

Now that we have our center brace attached we can go ahead and hold up our hitch and put it in position using the carriage bolts that are provided with the installation kit. We are going to tighten them down by using the flange nuts. Now that we have our hitch loosely installed on our center plate we are going to go ahead and attach these left and right side plates to the hitch as well. First we are going to snug down the bolts that are attached to the center hitch with the side plates. Now that we have the brackets tightened down on the left and right side of the hitch we are going to start tightening down our center bracket starting with the two rearmost bolts, followed up by the front two bolts. Now that we have all the bolts installed we will give them the final torque as specified in the instructions. 2:57

Now that we have the hitch in position and all our nuts torqued down we can go ahead and reposition our exhaust back in place. We are going to take some measurements for you now that we have the hitch installed. From the center of the pin hole to the edge will be approximately 3-1/2 inches. From the ground to the top of the receiver hitch will be approximately 11-1/2 inches. Now that completes the install of part number 11756 on this 2007 BMW 335xi.
