After many requests, I've put this together. I'm not sure its helpful or good, but I hope someone benefits.

It is critical that every drummer develop their own unique style and interpretation. Therefore, I do not memorize any song exactly. I have spent 30 years playing drums and have developed my own style, which I prefer. I keep my playing within the framework of the song and will play a part exact if that part is either iconic (like Phil Collins’ “In The Air Tonight”) or critical to the success of the song.

Thank you for watching and lots of success drumming!!

  • @HEYBUDD - He took the time out of his day to create this video giving people a free lesson on learning polyrhythms as well as his own drumming style. Take your negative and immature criticism elsewhere - it's completely unwarranted. Tbartels007's videos are educational and a great contribution to the Youtube community.

  • i'd love to come waking down the street, seeing u sitting in the passenger seet of a car listening to tool really loud, while playing invincible drums :D

  • @TheSicknessIsTheCure Reflection is 4/4.

  • you are so awesome

  • thank you so much

  • @Gagoik Very few complex Tool songs are in 4/4, and even then Tool has changing time signatures so counting out the song isnt going to help. You just try to understand the patterns and listen to the song enough times and you can grasp it.

  • The Lateralus pattern is always changing time signature so i don't even bother counting while playing songs like that

  • Absolutely fantastic, thanks ;) I've mentioned you on my blog, if you don't mind ;) Thanks a lot! ;) klusik.cz/cs/article/jak-na-bici-z-tool

  • @Gagoik The Lateralus pattern is in 5/4. Idk about Reflection

  • 10 people couldn't figure out which tom was which.

  • @Deciblaster well lateralus and rosetta stoned a freaking impossible songs, especially rosetta stoned.
