I'll show a few of my best trout rigs i use and i few baits (the pully rig was originally for salt water but works for tout well.

Two barrel swivels that is...

Hey, just wanted to say thanks. I used a slight variation of the 3rd rig you described. I put a 1/4 oz slip, egg weight between to barrel swivels that were about 15" apart, then used 30" of 4 lb leader with a #16 trebblehook. Like you were saying, the trout takes the bait, swims off, and when the upline swivel catches up with the weight, the hook is partially set. All you have to do is reel it in. It works great!
