Train Travel in Sri Lanka is an adventure to say the least. With not many daily services, there is a mad rush to get on or off so watch out. Be careful not to hang your feet out as I did and broke my toe. The trains are not clean and first class will not be the same as back home. These are still marvelous journeys but sometimes you will not get a seat and as long as you can stand for hours you will love it.
