What is the pay range in Chicago?

@vipersaim Also, ask the company what kind of contracts they bid. If the company your looking at likes to "under bid" on cheap contracts it will reflect in your pay.
Look for companies that bid on their contracts based on their ability to serve a client, not on their ability to be the cheapest bid just so they can get the contract.

A Security Officers salary is site specific. The contracts are based on what a client is willing to pay for the service. The company will get roughly .5x what the officer is paid (if the officer is getting $10/hr, the company is charging the client $15/hr making $5/hr profit after paying the officer thier $10/hr) Prospective officers need to ask the company what percent the company is making to see if it is a fair market value or if they are being taken advantage of.

Those who work on Nuclear power plants, or federal agencies can make loads. I noticed the CIA pays their officers about 60K a year, who have full qualifications.
