The Funkadelics is good for you and your earhole. Eddie Hazel will get you there, his playing is like the weekend with a good bag of weed, ribs, baked mac & cheese, collard greens, potato salad, sweet potato pie waiting in the kitchen, icebox full of cold beer, with your foxy girlfriend on the way over...it's a good time!

It is so outrageous tha this country can not get itself together like some of the old "FUNK ROCK" bands. Until we learn to share and care for our fellow man this country, and the rest of the world influenced by the US will go to HELL, in a handbasket. Help each other and listen to FUNKADELIC music!!!

George Clinton also said that he was influenced by Frank Zappa. They both loved the outrageous the extreme to take the audience to another level.

@PamperedTongue Also Dames, Games, and Guitar Thangs; the solo album of Hazel is pretty awesome. Another one- Jams from the Heart, is a solo, mostly instrumental of Eddie Hazel that I cherish.
-
@PamperedTongue also later on if you can find Eddie Hazel solo projects, get them for your dad. I think he made a couple of CDs. Maggot Brain is a classic.
This sounds like its influenced by jimi hendrix. Funky and rockin

@illreputed95 No question that Funkadelic was influenced heavily by Hendrix, as well as by Sly Stone, and the hard rock scene in Detroit during the late 60's and early 70's. Bootsy brought a strong James Brown flavor into the group, but that tended to surface much more in the Parliament output than what they put out under the Funkadelic banner.

@PamperedTongue As someone who turned 53 a week ago, let me state that it should come down to two albums, Maggot Brain, and Standing on the Verge. Might depend on his musical tastes. If he's more into funky side of the band, Verge would probably be better. If he's a rocker, make it Maggot Brain, although Verge rocks hard too.
