Just curious but when you say "Fastest stock turbo in SoCal" Who is it that gives you that title?

@RosieKR I am sorry, but i have to comment on this one too. The mustang does not have better weight distribution (heavy v8 over the front and it is rwd) The mustang IS heavier than the other, it IS naturally aspirated, it makes LESS hp, It doesnt rev very high, and you are impressed with this? Thats kinda like comparing a 250 lb body builder to a 250 lb overweight kid. Definately an advantage there. This is not an argument at all. Just saying.

@harlon2u

do you understand what weight distribution is? the reason, stock for stock, a rwd has the advantage over fwd when it comes to weight distribution is that when it accelerates, it transfers weight to the rear, therefore more weight on the rear tires and may prevent wheel-spin. on a fwd, it goes to the rear tires and takes weight off the front drive wheels, therefore sometimes causing wheel-spin.

the srt4's have a curb weight of 2900lb, the mustang gt was around 3100 or 3200 lbs, that's not going to win street races. it does make less hp, about 10-15whp differnce. the 5.0 made 225crank hp and the 2.4t makes around 239 crank hp, that difference wont win street races.

@coondawg9

so, it's not some 300hp engine and it's not waaaaaay lighter like you make it out to be, and the 5.0 in fox bodies werent the slowest factory v8 ford had to offer so people need to learn their shit or shut the fuck up.

Smaller engines of any type (i.e. a chainsaw enigine) are able to exceed very high revolutions per minute. Therefore, it is natural for a 7-9000 rpm engine to produce more horsepower than a 4-5500 rpm, heavier internals v8. So it isnt impressive that a high-winding 4 cyl or v6can create hp. what a 4-6cyl CANT do is create N/A low rpm torque. So its a trade-off for those high revs. No offense, but i had rather have low (under 3000) rpm torque than a straining high hp high rpm 4-6 cyl anyday.

@harlon2u

the modified(not super modified, just top end stuff) 5.0's reving to 5-6k make great hp. it's not about how many cylinders it has or anything, how high an engine can rev safely is based off it's stroke. both the 2.4 and 5.0 have larger bores than strokes so they can both rev just fine. like i said, the 2.4 has technology on it's side but the aftermarket for 5.0's is huge so you can make up for it in the price difference of the cars.
