The finished axe. I ground off some more at the bottom curve, straightened the back a little and added grooves that are on the original find. Then I oil burnt the surface to get it jet black.
The handle is the same ash handle I've shown cutting earlier videos. It now has a wide hardwood wedge and the top of the handle is continuing out the top of the eye. When I also ground off the top flush this gave the same look as the top of the Oseberga axe which has a surviving handle.
