@luckyclover34 Alive or not, Ce and Robbie escaped Briony. Briony lies about everything, especially her "guilt". She's pathetically trying to come up with a story using her selfishness and by ruining her sister's life.

@orlandogirl213 How was it happy if they both have died? Briony wouldn't lie about them dying because she's trying to fix it up by giving them a happy ending in her book about what she did. We see them die, and it's quite sad.

@luckyclover34 No it wasn't. It was a happy movie. Robbie and Ce escaped that vile, lying, pernicious, stupid Briony. I've seen the ending of the movie and I don't believe Briony when she said Ce and Robbie died because she's obviously lying. Every word that comes out of her mouth is a lie. Robbie and Ce did get away from her and her lies.

Oh sorry! I just saw this comment now :( Hopefully you've found the answer elsewhere (since it's been two months lol) but if not, the book is called "Atonement" (same as the movie) and it is by Ian McEwan. I highly recommend it, it's a fantastic novel!

yes, she sings this too, but I had to cut the song short (becuase I wasn't able to find many clips from the movie) so she doesn't sing this part. but you're right! and thank you :)
